I skied last weekend at Mammoth and had fun. The snow came in wet and really bonded onto the rocks. I skied groomers on Saturday morning then lapped Dropout 1 on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. It was really fun for this time of year, the rocks were easily avoided. Unfortunately I can't go up this weekend, this storm should really get things going.

I'm in the market for a new stick and thought I'd ask you boys. Looking for a one board quiver. Mostly East coast groomers/ice. But I do get out west every year for work. I've been on an old cambered board I've had for years that is finally being retired.
I primarily stay out of the park but do like to hit some jumps here and there. Mix in a little bit of switch but not enough to necessitate a full on twin.
I keep going back and forth between some of the hybrid rocker/camber and more camber boards.
I'm very intrigued by a few boards:
Jones (Flagship. Even more so with the Explorer, due to it's slightly more playful characteristics.)
Yes Pick Your Line
Nitro Woodcarver

...and I thought there were too many surfboard models...
Any insight would be appreciated as it's difficult to interpret snowboarders describe ride feel.

Also, I've been snowboarding since I was 11 and would say I'm intermediate-advanced.
Do I show my tits now or after?

i'd recommend the Flagship. It's as close to a one board quiver for more of a freerider type. has enough camber in the feet to have control on hard pack, but for weeks old hard pack I'll go all camber. will handle powder too easily. I like my Flagship, but they really didn't have a correct size for me out yet when I bought it so been riding something undersized a bit. It's a step down from my all camber Never Summer Heritage (circa 2011-ish) so it's a easy transition when the snow is softer. Personally I like the Directional Camber boards as they can hold when bombing groomers. Haven't tried a hybrid rocker/camber yet. just don't know if that will wash out at high speed, which I'm not wanting to try out.

If looking into jones boards, your riding style sounds more suited for the mountain twin or ultra mountain twin. Jones himself calls the ultra mountain twin more versatile than the flagship. There are some good short clips comparing this years boards below. Flagship is a rad board though and really cant go wrong with it.

Agreed. Other boards you might check out:

Capita Mercury
Yes Typo
Burton Deep Thinker

Flagship/Explorer don't make sense to me if switch capability is at all important to you.

I switched from a 10 year old cambered board (Burton Uninc) to a Mercury late last season, and after riding in a bit of powder over the weekend, a little rocker in the tips is a game changer and it definitely DOES NOT wash out at high speed.

the Capita Spring Break boards are pretty rad. https://www.capitasnowboarding.com/snowboards/spring-break-powder only got a chance to look at the 151 but it's a cool shape that the 161 could work for me. but the zero camber for Mammoth didn't sound fun once that place gets tracked out. Plus $700+ price range.

just ordered a Korua. with shipping board was $75 cheaper than buying from Evo in the states. Plus 3 day shipping from Germany!

The K2 Manifest looks pretty nice. Directional Twin (same nose / tail specs, but 3/4" setback on the binding mounts). Mostly Camber with a bit of rocker at each end to loosen it up and give a bit more float.

I'd ride a Wide, but they make it standard width too.

Ive always thought K2 makes some of the coolest looking boards, if that sort of thing matters to you.

The K2 Standard has their old Flatline Tech, which I have on my K2 Slayblade and really like. Basically Flat Camber that doesn't curve up or down. Trying for a happy medium and IMO it works well. Looks like they added a tiny pit of rocker at the tips for good measure.

Again, Directional Twin, so same shape all around just set back 3/4" on the binding mounts. Lower price too.
