So forecast is calling for a couple feet overhead Tuesday when we fly in, then head high wednesday, then waist high Thursday. More swell possible Saturday and Sunday. Probably only going to surf Honolua or surrounding, so I’m thinking I can just bring my 6’3” everyday board. I rode it at head high honolua last time I was there and did fine. If the swell was gonna stock around longer I’d bring my 6’8” step up but I think that might be overkill for every day except Tuesday but swell wil already be fading when I get up there.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the tips. Ended up bringing my 6'3" Coil Flashback Fish, which was the right call for most of the waves I got. Got in a couple sessions, once with Lelandcuz. Rode the mat one day when it was tiny. Plenty of family time at the beach and pool. Can't wait to go back.

back for a few weeks over xmas
maui is insane but blown away by accomadation/rental prices - cursory search showed
significantly more than neighboring islands and surfdogs place -
i am a novice when it comes to hawaii so wondering why that is?

however one good tube at the bay will make all that financial pain go away

It's Maui & Wow-weeee
Fave ... for Steven Tyler
Crosby, Stills & Naish
George Benson
Jimmy Hendricks
Loggins & Messina
Oprah!!!
shrug

But really, it's about the once real life of migrating surfers from California that were living in $60.00 a month rooms for rent in Lahaina, the free for all Whaling Spree Days of locals chasing hippies around, binge drinking at the Lahaina Yacht Club, and glassy days at Honolua Bay. So it went to weed, cocain and acid ... because it was in the business plan ... hosted by visiting California surfer's ~ beer

After being here a month I am flying home today. Been a good trip surfing with my son and enjoying the Island life.

Home for a couple weeks and then pack the truck and tour the Baja Peninsula for a couple months surfing, Kiting, eating tacos, and enjoying Baja Life.

Hope you get some on your trip back. Watch out for Tanner LOL
