What kind of logic is that? The EC is (obviously) not the sole reason to have states.

No shit, but its a real question.

The states obviously aren't sovereign like originally intended. Senators started being elected directly over a century ago, and the EC is ostensibly the "states" electing the President. The 10A is super weakened, and anytime a state makes a law that strays too far away from the rest, the SCOTUS slams it down. Communication is instant and the world is small

There's no reason for the EC or the State. Let DC reign down upon all of us

Youre trying really hard to make a connection here but your logic is quite faulty.

EC decides a federal election. This is already inherently separate from state issues and state decisions.

The state shouldnt be making the decision, the people should.

I'm agreeing with you here

There's no reason to have the EC or states themselves anymore.

I disagree about the no more need for states, and the correlation of the EC being removed and dissolving state borders. I think those are two separate points that are not dependent on the other.

The people who speak out against the electoral college probably all live in the densely populated left leaning areas of our country that would control all the power.

Imagine a world where the people who live in the Red areas of this map would control all political power for the entire country. Wouldn't that be awesome????

Ether that or make the states truly sovereign. Borders, passports, the whole shebang.

I'm all for that.

Like how the 85% of the population East of the Mississippi should tell us what to do?

They'd get rid of all of our most insane CA laws in an instant
