Curious what you guys are riding who are looking for fins bigger than medium but smaller than large.

Bigger mediums:
Futures F6
Gorilla Machete (accelerators)

Smaller Larges:
Futures Rusty
Futures Lost MB 5fin
Creatures Arc (AM template)

Curious of any others. I seem to like around 15-15.5 sq in of area on my fronts, depending on the board and waves at hand.

Look at the Craig Anderson Blacksix.

https://futuresfins.com/ando-blackstix-3-0.html

They were too big for me (I'm about 160lbs), but they might work for others in the right board. I found them a little too sticky. Craig Anderson weighs like a buck 40 soaking wet but I guess he's got some power in those stick legs...

Medium JJFs are larger medium fins. They're really, really close to Accelrators

I have the JJF mediums. Theyre big for medium but slightly less area than the F6.

Those TP-1 fins look good. Wish futures still sold them, or anything else that was 15.25-15.35 sq-in range.

Mixed in the JJF medium center with the MB2 fronts this afternoon. Was in the direction of what I wanted to feel.

Ill short futures an email.

Looks like true aims L fins are on the YUGE size.

Captain Fin. They make excellent thruster/quad sets and their CF and Dane Reynolds templates are similar to Al Merrick template with a wider base/narrow tip and smaller center fin. Relative to other AM templates, the Captain Fin CF's have just a little bit more area overall because of slightly fuller tips, i'd highly recommend them if you're looking for mediums or larges with just a tad bit more overall area.

anyone here in absolute hatred of the fact that like 90% of fins available aren't made of panel fiberglass?

I'm digging the Med Dane fins in my Ghost. I feel like they might not be enough fin for my daily driver but I haven't tried it yet.

Who will make a custom fin with futures base? Id dig a set of Merrick templates in the AM1.5 size.

edit: Dane M fins look pretty close. Funny that their small resembles what futures calls a medium fin. I need to sell off some fins...

True Ames Merrick template Medium... AM 1.5...

Compare area to Futures Merrick fin and youll see that TAs mediums are in between AM1 and AM2....

Edit to add: I have never actually compared the fins side by side so maybe the area measurements are done differently?...
