Anyone ridden one on here? Saw the typical reviews (ie Noel Salas) on youtube but curious on more feedback...

Thanks ahead of time!

Best shortboard in the last 3 yrs imho. User friendly. If old middle age kooks lke me can ride it , anyone can.

Supposedly just like stamps gx, and lots of positive reviews on that here .

I like the OG Flyer better. Works in the small stuff as good as the sampler but has more range as the waves get bigger.

Sampler is good too.

It will make you surf like Dane Reynolds, so theres that.

Had mine for over a year and it's pretty much my daily driver. That and my Pod Mod have me covered for most sessions in SD. Paddles so well with the low entry but still turns in the pocket with the moderate tail rocker. I like that the nose isn't super wide like other stubbies. If I had to improve it I'd thin out the rails a touch near the nose and middle. Also, I like mine with smaller fins. I'm 185lb and prefer M5's to the large GAMs.

Loved the Sampler when I tried it for a fews surfs via Awayco. Would buy one if I found one at a good price.

The OG flyer was good too; needed a larger wave than the sampler to get going IMHO but could ride bigger stuff.

I had tried a friend's sampler and was really lusting over one, but ended up going with a Tim Stamps Grinder X, because 1) I couldn't find a good deal on a used sampler 2) I have bad experience with CI glassing. I couldn't be happier with the GX and a lot of people on here feel the same way. Worth checking out if you like the look of the sampler.

I couldnt get past the beefcake rails. Yuge compared to what I usually ride.

Ended up with a GX as well. Quite happy. Custom from Tim is around half the price of a CI. Dane worked on refining it too. Funny history, this GX...

Anyone know the difference between the DR gx vs tims standard? Ive only had the DR file.

I hadn't heard the bit about Dane. Is that written up anywhere or just word of mouth?

Word from the man himself. I only found out because I asked him to look up the serial of an ex-Simpo I wanted to tweak. Never bothered asking about what a normal GX file is like as Id only surfed the one I wanted copied.

Very cool. I couldn't be happier with my GX and spearfish. Minus that bump in swell last week I've been having fun with both from waist to head high.

I found a slightly used custom sampler on CL for around $250 US. the dims were stretched out a bit from stock dims and it was team light glassing. It's an excellent beach break board that flies down the line and turns really well. My dream quiver is another sampler for my daily driver and a monsta 6 or monsta 8 for when the waves get good.
