I'll be staying at Lohi's and plan to bring a daily driver, hpsb, and a step-up.

Anyone been? Any advice is appreciated. Is there anything you wish you had brought that's not obvious?

Was there last September , great question , the best face sun block on the planet you can buy , and calendula cream for burns ( one spot between my rash guard and shorts was like a black felt line for ten days ), sultans and jailbreaks went off while we were there , wish I knew how to embed pics , still haven't figured it out , have a blast , loved it , our guide wore chicks make up and never got burned and that amazed me , we flew via Dubai , will never do that again , soulless that spot

I was there at the end of September into October. 3 weeks total. It was firing. I rode a CI flyer in everything from waist to double overhead +. I brought 4 boards and regretted it.

This was back in 2004. Wow I can't believe that was 14 years ago. I need to get back there. Best trip of my life. Better than 6 months in Indo.

Thanks Ranch. Good advice. I'll get the thickest sunscreen I can find. I too am going through Dubai. Not particularly looking forward to that part. Your pics aren't working, unfortunately.

Good to know. I've been considering taking 2 boards only, but that makes me a little nervous.

What would you guys say the water temp was? Looking for some sun and wind protection in the water, but I don't own a button down hawaiian shirt (hipster joke).

Was anyone wearing a vest or a jacket or would you cook yourself in that?

It has been awhile but I do remember in the afternoons sometimes thinking that a 1 mil vest would be nice against the wind. But I'm from Maine so it never felt cold. I think two boards are fine. Two HPSBs. You could pack a step up right before depending on the forecast I guess but again, I surfed a few days that were solid double overhead with some bigger sneaker sets and my 6'0 flyer went off. The waves are just so perfect. How long are you going for?

10 days in early October.

Good advice on the boards. I'm sure I'll be fine with a dd and a hpsb then.

I'll bring a 1mm vest too, just in case. The wind always gets to me anyways.

Thanks for the tips cheers
