40th Birthday trip with a bunch of couples

Anyone use the local guides in the area for surf excursions? I'd like to get quality waves if there's swell.

I know I know

I got roped into one of those all inclusive resorts so surfing is a bit of an afterthought. Just seeing if it's worth it to hire someone to get good surf since we won't be renting a car.

rent a vehicle, pack food/bevs and head to the East Cape. No need to hire anyone and kinda silly in my opinion.

Or get yourself to Cabo Surf and rent a board to surf Old Mans and the Rock

And if you wanted a guide you could prob hire someone from Costa Azul Surf Shop

Those spots are easy to find although you will prob find more surf on the East Cape during that time of the year.

Just got back from a fun trip, bit of a bender but got plenty of surf at the Rock.

Rode the bus from the resort a couple stops away. $2 each way and very minimal crowd in the water.
The other folks with me rented boards from Costa Azul and both had pretty much brand new boards to ride.

I skipped the surf on the weekend thinking it would be crowded, but checking the cams there were less people in the water than during the week.

Sounds like a good trip! I was there staying at Las Olas which is right at the rock in March. Got fun ones with minimal people.

Although times have changed. You used to be discouraged from LB the rock and now its a free for all with SUPs, LB's, beginners and soft tops.

Still love that zone though
