Happy belated birthday PPK. I know you're probably pretty busy dealing the chaos on Kauai's north shore today. I hope you celebrated earlier yesterday. cheers

Not so good for a few people in low lying areas on Kauai's north shores today. Homes damaged, rivers flooding at record or near record peaks. Bison washed down rivers and out to sea. Hopefully most made it back in like this guy.....

Moreso, I hope there weren't any human casualties or major injuries from this torrent.

Take it easy out there PPK. Hope to see you soon.

Happy Birthday Uncle!!

this weekend was some of the roughest flooding maybe ever seen in Hanalei. 27 inches of rain in 12 hours Saturday night. Buffalo washed out onto the reef. The bathroom at the pier demolished. Houses destroyed. Dolphin Restaurant, home of the world's oldest, happiest, and hardest working busboy, is no more. the office where the wife of a famous shaper works was destroyed.

In honor of PPK's birthday, and the overall hospitality offered by modern day Hanalei, keep an eye out for fundraisers and go fund me's etc, and chip in a few bucks. LOT of damaged homes and businesses and livelihoods. details are barely just coming to light, as this all literally went down yesterday

Wow, that's frightening levels of flooding. I didn't even know that there were buffalo on Kauai. Peter, I hope you and Deb stay safe as well as those in your community. This is one helluva birthday present. drowning

Apparently some ranch up the river has a few

Word is that he was rescued

Holy smokes! That shot of the buffalo on the beach is nuts. Can't believe the washouts at the pier.

I'm not going to complain about the PNW rain for a while...

Stay safe PPK.

The longer he takes to check in the more guilty I feel about my xbox comment! It's true it got fried with a lightening strike but that is not life and death stuff like maybe some had to deal with! Fingers crossed for a healthy and safe PPK!
