Sharkcountry and I had a great time eventhough we spent most of the time down south hanging out with Sr Pato and crew.
Hope to make a couple trips out that way next year. Maybe a summer and fall trip to prevent the 20' bay closeout and rain storm days we had.

I love kaua'i

Really glad you and your bro had a great visit to Kauai and got to kickback a bit from your hectic pace on Oahu recently. Ya, saw the Bay breaking on all the way outer reef spots, just after the couple rainy, stormy North wind days prior. That was the day the held the Jaws contest. Always amazing to just watch all that power and tow-in guys from the cliff at the St. Regis. Look forward to booking another getaway week or weekend when you're ready.

Aloha and Mahalo.

Oh, look- an imp troll who pretends to be a woman is now trolling the travel section. Just because certain ErBBers live rent free in your head doesn't mean you can stay in SurfDogs condo rent free.

Do you even surf KOOK loser

Just spent another weekend at the unit.

Updates:
- Still not fun getting cartwheeled out at the Bay
- The pool is heated now
- Piazza is a nice hangout spot with good pizza and IPA's on tap
- Not much room to park on the beach at Black Pot, but may be it needs a little break

Glad to hear you had another great visit, AND got to squeak in one more surf session that afternoon before you left. The new Piazza restaurant is pretty nice (was CJ's Steakhouse). Good all around Italian food too.

The pool is now solar heated, so winter time is nice and toasty, too. It was just direct sun heated before, and mid-winter time it was just a tad chilly, but still not bad. Now it's very nice, and almost too warm in summer. I liked the cool dip in summer, now it's like a bath. Kids and adults like it more than ever now. Actually a lap size pool, largest of all Princeville condo's. wave2

we went went the bay was 20' but you could surf like all the grom on the inside to the left of the pier
We saw tons of folks surfing the mush their
the water was just too stanky for our taste

If it's big and a north-northeast just drive south and work your way back down to lihue
tons of spots to check on the way down
If desperate, just surf Kalapaki with the wrap
I've done that before as well

That italian restaurant is great
We had lunch there the day we arrived
appetizer's and salads with a couple cold brews hit the spot after the long drive from town
The stone oven pizza's must be nice too

There's at least half a dozen upscale hotel based dining options in the area including Roy's.
gotta have at least one decent meal when in town

Didn't hit the pool yet
seems like when we're there we spend more time driving or away from the condo that at it except at night since things close down early on Kauai.

Its a great place
Smart move by Surfdog getting in when he did for the future.

I'd say ounce for ounce, Hanalei is the most frightening wave to surf. I think it's scarier than Pipe or Sunset at the same size. I don't know what it is, it just feels so uncomfortable.

It's no surprise Kauai guys do well at Sunset (Andy, Fuller, Valerie, Kamalei, etc).

I certainly am more comfortable in bigger waves at a point or reef, but yeah...had be honest with myself - I have no business at hanalei.
