There's a section on Coast Hwy in San Clemente between Pico and Poche where there are 4 bike lanes and 2 car lanes. I'll never understand that logic
In places like Carlsbad where there's a single bike lane and you have people on beach cruisers, joggers, skateboards often running/riding/skating in both directions on the same side of the road and moving at different speeds as well as lancers going 30mph, it makes people have to swerve into the car traffic to miss each other.
San Clemente was smart, wish Carlsbad narrowed it to one car lane and let walkers/runners/bikes/skaters have the other one.
Thousands of people walk or ride that stretch of the beach and they are all squeezed into a 4ft wide sidewalk and a single bike lane.
Cars have enough privileges over pedestrian traffic already.
