There really should be no such thing as a Public funded Union. They have a bottomless pit of money to do what-ever with. Not like they're slaving away in the coal mines or working 12-16 hour days making gadgets.

What do most gov. employees do that makes their jobs so "tough" that they need a union to protect them?

We didn't get a raise for 8 years. The admins used the economy to justify this. We even took a 10% pay cut one year, which they loved.

Then we got a 2% raise last year.

During this same time the admins got on average 10% raises, plus they hide their pay in perks, like car allowances, etc.

The organization has it's own legal team but they contract a union busting legal firm from Chicago for millions of dollars to negotiate with the union.

The union is asking for 5% instead of 2% and the admins are saying, no censored way.

Every time we go to arbitration the arbitrator says, "The union is making a reasonable request."

The idea of the union doing what it wants to the state is BS from my experience.

Welcome to the real world then. Carry on.

By most standards and including inflation, since 2009, on average, most "workers" wages, in all incomes have actually DROPPED 4% in the last 6 years.

You said the state unions are abusing the system.

Just pointing out an example where they are not.

Yeah, workers are getting fucked.

Therefor we need to get rid of unions.

Makes sense to me.

State unions are taking advantage of many state budgets, especially when they have total Dem control cow-towwing to them. California is a prime example of those abuses.

We don't necessarily need to rid of them, but they do need reigns pulled in and limits to their overt powers they have on state budgets. Not so much the worker bees, but the bloated admin's and cushy, early retirement pension guarantees.

The gov't. is held to higher ethical standards than private concerns, or hadn't you noticed?

You talk about money but that is controlled by elected officials, not gov't. employees. Public unions generally do not have the same remedies at their disposal as private ones do, e.g., Reagan vs. air traffic controllers.

Gov't. workers generally have to accept lower pay than their private sector counterparts. They have to content themselves with the 'honor' of serving a grateful public and, often, a more generous benefit package.

The constant misdirection or "red herring" type of responses in this place by those who do not want to open their minds to the real subject is absolutely f*cking zany.
