I have always followed/utilized "free" forecasts, NOAA Bouys etc. As im getting older and lazier, Im thinking it might be nice to have an entity that condenses, digests and interpreters for me. Is Surfline worth it? better sites?

It's less than $6 per month.
I use it every day. So is it worth 0.20 per day? Yes.

Depends where you are located. There are a ton of free cams where I live.......to many. No need to pay for surfline.

What's the difference between conservatives and liberals?

Conservatives get angry when you lie to them. Liberals get angry when you tell
them the truth.

I somehow managed to get a freebie from Surfrider Foundation a long time ago, and they have never cancelled it. I wouldn't pay for it, though.

if you're in California, all you're getting is camera access as stormsurf, CDIP, weatherunderground, plus local buoy give you all the information you need for surfing. while surfline runs their long range out a few weeks it's all a guess.

Not worth it.

Plenty of free resources out there, including very accurate long range forecasts and analysis, that are free.

Depending on where you are, yes, absolutely worth it. I happily paid for it for about a decade, starting with those .76 a minute dial up surf reports back in what, the late 80s? If you have your local conditions dialed and can triangulate tide/swell/wind (i.e. west coast) then no, you don't need it, but if you're far from the beach or live on the east coast (fickle shifty stuff that you need to actually SEE with a cam,) it's definitely not bad.

Define "worth it"? The monthly cost is about a cup of my wife;s starbucks. Since I moved from 2 blocks away from the beach and fuel is about 4 bucks a gallon, it's worth it to me.

I also like being able to watch the surf in other areas when it's firing.

For Brazil it's a piece of turd. but there are so many cams in the US, I like having it when I'm traveling there... Never paid for it though, needing it only once a year I can always just use the premium free trial. I just have to cancel it before the month is over and it's all good.

Saves me a lot of time, driving and gas money to check north shore cams coming from town.
If you check the cam at your local before you go surfing, then you will condition yourself with "camera vision" and know exactly what your local will be like by looking at your local cam for 20 seconds.
Worth $6 per month.

free iphone app works well. have to sit thru a Hurley ad for about 15 seconds but repeat that process for about 3 minutes have a very good sense of what the swell is doing. 3 minutes of my time is not bad of a price.
