Glad things seem to be great for you, Ryan. Looks like you have a
damn good thing going. Still want to try one of those vBowls at some point.

Surferguy800 makes 'em. He could probably help you out. Ryan, killer boards and killer website.

Makes two of us. I'm starting a quest to find a good midlength.

A friend of mine loves his. He's been trying to convince me I need a board with some length for those days...

They are so fun. I've tried nkpheous's original one but not the other two yet.

Hull speed without all the bad parts of the hull

I don't know why OT has a antiboner for Ryan

I'm aware - not looking to order one, though. I shape most of my own equipment, and looking to shape something similar (outline-wise, at least). Don't know anyone with a vBowls personally, just looking for nose and tail widths, ballpark. I know the WP is about 5-6" back, with rocker apex matching the WP.

This is a board he did a couple years back before he started doing the rounded pin tails.

I've watched that vimeo clip twice. Once yesterday and again today. I wanted to kind of see it from a couple of different moods. Mr. Burch is a world class talent. Even with all his skill, he's having trouble finishing off the whitewater rebound at the end of his roundhouses. The board comes beautifully off the bottom (as any good hull will) and carves a lovely frontside turn (not all hulls can make this claim) but seems to struggle on the backhand (as most hulls do). Kind of like watching Jimmy Gamboa's hull riding from that old Thomas Campbell flick, although not as cringe worthy as that.

I'm no expert in this design but I have a fair bit of experience. I have a 7'2" Liddle smoothie, a 6'6" Anderson Bojorquez pescado, an 8'10" Cooperfish C2 gun (hull entry), a 7'4" Campbell Bros Bonzer 5 egg, a 7ft cooperfish v-pin, and a 7ft Con egg shaped by Bruce Grant, plus a mixed bag of long and short simmons inspired craft and fish. My first ever surfboard was an old Bing twin fin with an s-deck that I got from my uncle in the mid 70s. I've surfed an Andreini serena and a vaquero. Hi my name is colin, and i'm an alt board addict.

All said, if you want a pure hull I'd still go with Mr. Liddle. The Andreinis were more user friendly and went better backside. The Anderson Bojorquez Pescado is a criminally underrated design. Believe it or not, the board from Bruce Grant is the one I ride the most.

I've never ridden or even seen a Lovelace v.Bowls in person but I'd jump at the chance to buy one. Somewhat interestingly I've read those "hack" comments on a few different sites over the years. I have no idea where that comes from. I applaud any shaper who isn't afraid to get online and mix it up and bit in person. Ryan...if you by chance read this and ever make a journey over to Hawaii to shape let us know. I'm sure your boards would be well received on the south shore here.

Nice! A little too much arm waving but I love the fades. applause2
I do like Burch's gangly style, it's punk rock.
I'm really torn between V-Bowls and Andreini Double Enda for my next funboard.

I'm not sure that v-bowls is a hull or designed for roundhouse rebounds but I may be wrong.

FecalFace... also consider a Jim Phillips double enda or a Fineline Micro ANT. I rode both at San Onofre a few years ago and both were very pleasant. So many choices!!! So much fun to be had.
