Gotcha, makes sense.

Yeah. I want a flare only because I kinda miss my first GX and my SS2 is dying of cancer.

I’ve sold off all my grovelers. Couldn’t ever get along with the snub noses.

My TKF has plenty of volume (too much, thus the banjo) if I want to mess around otherwise I’m on my egg these days.

He's really easy to talk to and relates design elements into something you can understand. I know he can surf so I actually have very little input when talking to him other than what I want it to do and in what kind of wave.

This is what I'm talking about:

"i think the squash will 'dull' it out a bit, and make the transitions a bit smoother. the swallow will keep the rail line longer and the 'release' a bit more crisp and give that little fit of extra speed and resistance.
sounds like the swallow is what you are looking for"

Sometimes shapers get way over my head and I just nod... ok ok.

This makes perfect sense to me.

When I said Swallow tails are more dynamic compared to Round pins I was flamed several times here .

Surfers do have trouble understanding simple explanations - its not cosmic stuff .

Correct

With the standard I don't answer questions comments .

Pretty sure I've tried harder than any shaper to give non marketing factual information .

Still enjoy this place :-)

If a rounded squash dulls the ride imagine what a Round Pin does .

You can what your looking for from an RP narrowing the swallow and have some of its pluses

Much different board from what I’m getting. Different application.

When I have questions for Tim he answers them in ways I can understand. If I don’t understand he helps convey it in such a way that I eventually do. You can set your watch to his daily email replies, too.

No eye rolls, resentment or tangents on industry misinformation. Just a discussion of what you think you’re feeling, what you’d rather feel, and how to get there.

Tim is the people’s shaper, for sure.

the banjo fish is so good that I had to put mine on ice during this last swell so I didn't forget how to ride a thruster.

got myself a banjo/indo fish mashup on order. banjo outline just a bit stretched out and with some extra rocker and shallower swallow tail to accommodate a center box for twin+trailer possibilities. plus a few cuztom tweakz.

started the convo on a 5'9 fuse. I gave him the serial number of my gx and he's going to use the same rail profile. going with 1.5-2 l more than my gx but as he says don't get stuck in the liters. think i'm going eps/epoxy
