So, I've been driving around various beachside locales during council rubbish collection.

I found this ...

Aloha Quickshift. http://aloha.com.au/boards/quickshift

I had one a while ago, ran as a quad. It was vanilla and dependable. Flattish and drivey, a bit more foiled out than I remember.

I flipped a 3 sided coin. Twinzer, roundtail twin a la Griffin placement, or bonzer 5.
Bonzer won.....though I kind of wish I'd done twinzer, waaaay less work, and I just want one.

I've been obsessing over round pins like I used to ride, so I chopped the tail to suit. I made the runners from one of my old spin templates and lammed one side with black stained 6oz. Rush job, so a bit rough, but I'll def do that again. Looks cool.

It's Sunday, so naturally I ran out of sanding disks, and fuckedup all the ones I had. so I took it down by hand. Had to get in the water. Will finish later on, need to get a bit off weight off it.

This goes pretty good! Lays down the law backhand especially. Super drivey and gets up vert easily with that satisfying thwack!

I think I could have toed the runners a little less, shees a bit eager to climb frontside and there is a vague feeling of drag. But I can't tell if it's just because I've been riding something with a 10" tailblock and keels......

Good times! I'll most definitely shape on of my own, just love how you can brutalise these things.

Can you edit your title to say Bonversation?

Did you at least sand those fin edges before you surfed it?

Haha, I take it you mean my stream of consciousness monologue.
Too many fumes inhales over the last few days. Made a 7" fin with mashed potato during dinner. Scrotum is itchy, I'll scratch it later.
Got to pay that speeding ticket

Toe angle looks pretty good from what I can see. Maybe the drag you feel is the un-sanded fins.
What cant angle are they? They appear pretty upright.
Looks good none the less.
Happy sanding.
I know how much fun it is to sand those babies.
Glass-on fins, gotta love 'em.
Bonzerversion.
Right-on!

Good stuff Smasha.

Should add NPJ quartet placement into the mix next time since it seems like you enjoy experimenting and you have a knack for building your own fins.

I suppose then you'd need a four sided coin though shrug

Sup fellas,

25 degrees on the runners. Sanding them is such a bastard, glassers should charge double.
Barry, I think you may be right, the fins are a bit rough. Maybe holding me back a little.

So many choices, I might switch to dice!

I sanded it and it goes pretty good. Kind of step up for the hollow stuff.

My friend liked it too, so he volunteered his 5'10" Xanadu Pig for the same treatment.

I made all the fins. Main is 7" with more tip area. I'll sand it down in increments if I don't like it.....

Runners are nice and strong. Ply and 6oz with rovings.

Really amped to surf this one.

Cheers!
