Anyone try one? Seems like a fish made for better waves but how does it grovel? I assume not too bad given it looks like it should hold some foam but would like to hear from those who have ridden one, or at least checked one out in hand.

i wouldnt expect any wide tipped keel fish to grovel too well. depending on rail and bottom shape. the general design was originated for lined up reef and point waves. sorry i dunno the specific board in question. it will be smooth and glide for sure. small lined up waves yes. small sloppy waves probably not as much.

The glide shall not be truncated shameonyou

most of his fish are custom

rails , rocker , foil and such are based on riders request .

i have felt some beak nose thicker railed " retro " versions and also thinned out modern ones.

if you wanted a thinned out and less wide version for grovelling it could happen no doubt

i think we're central
found one on CL for $150 and bought it on a whim. glass on keels, no dims on bottom, but roughly 5'2" x wide x pretty foiled for a fish... which is good for me because i weigh ~155.

have had a great time on this board in super marginal spring SFOB surf. glides into waves with the forward volume and has a nice weighted / momentum feeling off the pump and through turns... could be that I'm used to riding lighter EPS boards most of the time.

my 2 cents are that it goes really well in poop surf and the one day we did have some flatter faced cleaner waves it was really fun. I am incredibly excited to get it into some down the line point style situations in SC. only thing for me is i have not really clicked with it backside (awesome frontside), but i think this is an archer not the arrow issue

I can't imagine riding this board in bigger waves (very little rocker) unless they were fairly perfect, but could just be my perspective surfing the waves up here

can get some pics if you are interested

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine...
