Looks like a couple guys revived the company and they're producing hard cases again. Anyone pick one up yet? I'm thinking about it.

Yew I'm due for a new bag. I'll probably grab one when I'm back in the states.

350 bucks and 23 pounds empty. I think I'll stick with board bags, which have worked perfectly for me.

Many airlines only charge for weight over 50lbs. So, you could fit 3 boards into one of these & be fine.

They may even only charge you the oversized bag fee, since it probably wouldn't require "special handling" (yeah right) the way a surfboard does.

I'll probably be getting one before my Aug Indo trip. After renting one a number of times now, I like the confidence of traveling with hardcases. I know some guys pack like a trophy wife, and need the capacity of a coffin, but if you can handle traveling a bit lighter they're worth a look.

On the 20.5 inch width limit I agree

My widest board right now is 20.25 but later on who knows.

This competitor allows for a 21' width but only has a length up to 6'4: http://swellshellsurf.com/swell-shell-hard-surfboard-case.html

Is SOMA Airbags EVER coming back? I had great success with my bag on my Costa Rica trip a few years ago. I'd love a SOMA triple.

Someone left a Santa Monica at the HB northside lot a while back

Hey guys, glad the word is getting out. We've worked very hard over the past 3 years to get Santa Monica Surfcase up and running again. It was an agonizing process figuring out the dimensions - we tried to build a case that would work for as many shapes as possible. Sorry we don't have the right width for some of your boards.

Shoot me an email anytime if you have questions about our cases. We've had so much support from past customers and new - we really appreciate it!

I picked up the 6'10 case. I'm impressed-build is solid and my 20.25 wide board fits in with a good amount of wiggle room. It would be very tough for an airline to ding boards protected in this case.

Ive had a 7-4 for years and it's been on many trips
it would be hard to damage a board inside a SM surfcase
