Does anyone know how different it is to ride a Stewart Hydrohull compared to a Walden Magic of the same size? I used to have a 9' Stewart Hydrohull and for a longboard it was awesome because it was super light and you could lay that thing on that chined rail and really crank bottom turns and cutbacks. I'm sold on the chined/beveled rail for longboards because of that. So yeah, I'm thinking of getting another Stewart Hydrohull in the 8' to 9' range but am considering the Walden Magic too. What is your experience?

Thanks
STeve

Are you asking for an honest opinion or do you want the polite version?

Just in case you're not sure, my honest opinion includes the term "monkey-humping-a-football" as a descriptive term. The polite version doesn't.

Opinion whatever. If you've ridden both, then what do you think? You know comparisons man...

I highly doubt you would be able to tell the difference between a Magic and a Hydrohull.

Stewarts are pretty well known for shitty glass jobs.

Nobody surfs here anymore..........it's too crowded

Never tried a Hydrohull but the Walden Magic I surfed was
probably the easiest lb to surf I've ever used.

They should ride differently because the bottoms are very different. Magics have a wide flat bevel on the rail and fairly subtle concaves compared to the Stewart Hydrohull. Hydrohulls have a narrower chined rail and much more severe concaves.

Its nothing that 6' and a Rounded pin can't fix.
