Yo, I am kinda new at surfing and I have having trouble dropping in on super steep waves, is there any technique or exercise i can practice to get the feel for it?

Surf close-out beachbreaks relentlessly.

you know..i've notice that when i'm gonna drop late, i don't even paddle, or maybe just once, i just let myself drop with the white water, sometimes with the board straight down and then do the bottom turn, i don't even think about not making it.
here's another one

Not one to throw rocks from my glass house (yeah right), but all those waves look like total MUSHBURGERS! They still look like fun waves, but nothing steep or vert.

We have beach breaks at three foot that look gnarlier.

Knice droppage none the less.

Keep pimping the pics.

hmmm...well, those were of me surfing on our regular days that we took the camera out, not an epic day and not from gnarly waves that myself might pull back of, sorry if i didn't meet your criteria for steep, vert or gnarly, i'm not a pro just a regular surfer, also i was showing my kinda' late take offs, i wuld've posted better pictures if i wanted to show off the spots.
here are some pics we took of other surfers in our local breaks(all of these in a 5 mile radius) on better days.

I'm sure pro fotographers on better days, with better luck, better camera, and better surfers will have better shots of this and previous years.
All these shots and the ones of me are from 2010(ok maybe a couple from 09)

we'd like to see some of your this year's pictures of your local breaks of yourself surfing.

hope this is better for your like.

like i said, i'm sure i can find really nice perfect looking pictures from around here, but these were taken by us.

paddle head first into the pit like a kamikaze pilot on meth

And put a little extra pressure with your back foot.

When I take off deep behind an a-frame or barrel only, I lean into that motherfucker practically head and hands first like no manana (frontside), or grab rail headfirst (backside), drop straight into the barrel rather than going into the flats and wasting a tube section for a bottom turn into the end section of a TP shaped wave. If it's a steep drop only with enough time for a bottom turn and down the line stuff I give some back foot backside if I'm late, frontside I don't much think much about it. Early entry is the key imo. "Kamikazi meth pilot" is my new band and great advice when you're pushing your own personal envelope.

Do this... well, and make the bottom turn.

1 New surfers always suck at steep waves
2 New surfers must surf to get better
3 Once you are no longer a 'new surfer' you will still surf steep waves to stay OK/good at surfing steep waves

Practice practice. Commitment plays a huge part of it, you hesitate for one split second, you are going over! Once you commit, never even think about pulling out, even if a trip over the falls is eminent. And paddle as hard as you possibly can unless you do the flip and launch late drop:)
