Sick looking board jkb! Who made the side fins? I don’t think I’ve ever seen Bonzer side fins in a Futures base. How’s the cant on them? Very curious on how it goes.

On my Bonzers, I take a straight edge and butt it up against the rear edge of the rear side fins. Then I lightly score a mark on the center fin box with a utility knife to give myself a reference point for my center fin. The front edge of my fin generally ends up lined up with the mark or with a little overlap with the rear fin, around 1/4”. My gut says that the fin all the way back like that will be to stiff. But, have fun dialing it in. Hope it goes well.

I seem to remember the Campbell Bros website having a page devoted to it.

Thanks! I'll start studying up.

The side fins are Fins Unlimited. I haven't measured the cant, but it looks similar to other 5 fins I've seen.......just basing this off a couple of fondles here and there.

Cool, thanks! I will try it first with the leading edge of the center fin in line with the trailing edge of the back fins and adjust from there.

Excited to give it a go!

The rocker looks like it can easily handle some smaller waves, but my gut tells me that fin set-up wants a day with some size and power at a wave that allows for some roundhouse cutbacks. Do you ride yours in all conditions sushipop (and anyone else with bonzer experience)?

My Campbell Bros Pod is 6’2” and I was actually using it as a pseudo-step up for a while but it also has a pretty low end and does pretty well in everyday stuff. My Mini B5 is a pretty good groveler, but that’s moreso due to the outline, rocker, volume, etc. A lot of people say bonzers come alive when it’s juicy, which they do, but I think you just need surf them differently than other DDs in smaller, less powerful stuff in order to harness energy from different parts of the wave. I find they like to hug/grip a little higher up on the face and you can get that “5th gear” with a mid face turn. They also get speed off of being on the rail instead of pumping/hopping across a flat spot. But, in all honesty, I suck at surfing so I’m really not a good source of info. I’m probably making all of this up in my head. drowning roflmao
