New to bonzers but I've fallen in love. I have a 7'1" and the center fin is set up 5 3/8" from the tail if u make a strait line acrossed the swallow tail. I just got a 6'5" and the center fin is setup 6 3/8" from the same mark? Is the fin location relative to the lenght or is it standard? Should I slide the fin back on the 6'5"?? Thanks in advance. I'm super stoked to try the 6'5 as I'd been riding the 7'1 in waves I would normally ride a 6'1 just cause i love the insane speed and drive these things have.

After thinking about it more I'm fairly confident the fin is too far forward on the 6'5. The guy I got it from didn't seem like he knew what he was doing so im pretty sure he has it in the wrong place. On the 7'1 the leading edge of the fin is behind the rear side fins but on the 6'5 it's not

A good starting point is the front of the center fin to line up with the back of the back set of fins. Sounds kinda of confusing I know. But it sounds like you know what you are doing. The adjustments after you have it set should be done in 1/16th to 1/8th intervals.

As for a swallow tail I am not sure you measure from the rail line or the actual tail.

My bonzer is diamond tail so it makes it easy.

i usually shoot for a 0.25" overlap of the leading edge of the center fin & the traling edge of the rear side fins. then i go from there...slightly forward to loosen it, back to get more drive.

Yup ... what he said.

You didn't say what size fin(s) your using on each board, and whether or not they are the Bonzer fins specifically designed for the board. Those are important too.

the 7'1 has a bonzer specific 7" fin..the 6'5" has a 6" fin but im not sure if its bonzer specific...i set the 6'5" up 5 3/4" from the tail which puts it about a 1/4" behind the rear side fins..rode it yesterday in what i hoped would be draining righthand tubes but it turned out to be mushy dribblers..board felt pretty good but it wasnt in the conditions i would normally ride this board..ill keep messing with it and see how it feels..thanks for the help
