My Matuse 4/3/2 is in for repairs.

And the swell is pump'n overhead "very good to epic" conditions with the water at about 50. I'm thinking of wearing two 3/2's. haha.

seriously.

Think it'll work - has anyone ever done it?

Full kook'out, but I don't care I wanna surf this swell!

Closest I've ever come to that was a 2M vest under a 3/2 in Santa Cruz during a repair.

I would think 2 3/2's would SUCK. A 6/4mm?

Just paddle like a mother in your 3/2.

if the water's 50, try one of the RipCurl thermal shirts
under your wetsuit instead of another suit.
uhh...can't remember what they're called, but they have
a titanium lining, they're like a long-sleeved rash guard.
Or maybe one of the Oneill thermal shirts; they're like a
super stretchy thermal that's made to wear under suits
in cold water.
I did the RipCurl trick under my 3/2 Excel in SAnta Cruz.
worked too well; kept me just a bit too warm.

I wear .5 mil SS and trunks under my 3/2 in the winter
toasty and not too restrictive

Was checking out coral reef suits, they make a shirt to wear under your wetsuits, it felt pretty good.
I'll probably get one for my son.

this is a question from the '60's when wetsuit science and materials were lousy---it didn't work then and it won't work now! trap too much water and too much resistance to the arms and legs when paddling and trying to surf ;-/ good luck

Don't do it. My super-cheap friend tried it and he had a hard time moving from the friction between the two suits. As suggested before, get a titanium-lined neoprene hooded vest (or hooded LS shirt) at a local store. The extra 0.5mm and attached hood should retain enough heat to keep you adequately warm for a little bit (I'm assuming your 3/2 is at least GBS and doesn't leak too much through the seams). In OH+ conditions, I would much rather be a little cold than take a set on the head or go over the falls because I couldn't paddle fast enough.
