Magic Carpet 6'0" X 20 5/8 x 1 5/8. Balsa over Corecell blank; you can see the corecell poking out on the tail.
Single concave on both deck and bottom.
Me - 6'0" 185lbs

The craftmenship and finish of this board has to be seen to be believed. The work that has gone into this is amazing.

Never been into wood boards before and wasn't sure that I would like it but this is a thing of beauty.

Razor sharp rails and the thinnest tail I have ever seen. I think the idea is that this will help to sink the rail and overcome the width of the board.

I am having a knee reconstruction tomorrow and so will not get to test it out for 9-12 months#^#^@&!!! Might have to get a friend to give it a blast. Will report on it then....

Dude, I'm back in the water in July. I am sooooo your friend. Seriously.

Did you get that shipped from Bert?! The guy is awesome to deal with, and a really open individual. I'm glad to see him set free.

So, anyway, Friend. When are we meeting up?

Streaking throu the quadrangle...
Suddenly so many friends!
If you are ever in the deep south of South Australia its yours to try.

I had this board custom made after numerous emails with Bert. He is very obliging and put alot of time and thought into his correspondence. I even managed to convince him to make it as a quad! Bert is very genuine in his concern for making sure his punters are happy and has great passion for what he is doing. I wish him well.
I've heard that he is not emailing now as it was probably taking up too much time.

I first got into contact with Sunova through their website http://www.sunovasurfboards.com/ in August last year. It took a while to get as they were just relocating to their new factory. Anywho, it was shipped to my door and the customer service was excellent. May have to place an order for a standard shorty for when I get back.

Party till she's cute!

That profile shot makes the board looks a lot thicker than 1 and 5/8ths, possibly the shot is not taken directly from the side ?

You could be right but it is a concave deck and so the thickest point is about 3-4 inches from the rail. I haven't measured it but I assume the 1 5/8 is measured from the middle which is not the thickest point.

That's quite a fin cluster you have going there. The back fins look to be pretty far north of the tail. The board should be real loose.

Have you ever looked at his longboards.

I have never seen one in person but the ones I have seen pics of have a set of FCS plugs in a thruster set up way up forward.

But hey what the hell do I know...He was shaper of the year.

I'm back...Sort of...

Its nothing that 6' and a Rounded pin can't fix.

Absolutely beautiful. However, what advantage--other than aesthetics-does the wood offer, where the rails and tail are something other than wood? Pressure dings on the deck and bottom would seem to be a non-issue. And how much does it weigh?

My bet is that if you ask Bert he will say that the ultra thin tail is there to encourage flex. . .
