My health costs are pretty rough, especially with a special needs child. Our insurance liasion at work was bragging about the better plans this year, how it's a better deal but almost impossible to meet the max OOP (12K I believe). I laughed - we'll meet that by August.

On the bright side, with me shattering my own deductible a few months ago, my physical therapy visits are only $15 each. You bet your ass that I am milking that hard. Legitimately mind you but I am not going to wait until next year to get shit fixed when I can do it dirt cheap now. Plus, I have had these hip flexor issues for 15+ years, no time like the present! shaka

Nothing is obscene provided it is done in bad taste.

Doesn't seem like America can do much anymore.

We used to have a "can do" attitude. During the past 30 years something has changed. Maybe 40 years. Maybe since Vietnam.

Did we just give up after we went to the moon?

You're right. Something changed. The rise of the anti-american left. Never forget those nine most terrifying words: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

What's the difference between conservatives and liberals?

Conservatives get angry when you lie to them. Liberals get angry when you tell
them the truth.

You've read the tea leaves all wrong. Turns out he did not have a democrat proof majority. There were traitors in the midst. 100% of the blame goes to the traitors. They are a disgrace to their country and the oaths they swore. McCain being the worst among them.

Or maybe there sense of what was good for the country transcended party affiliations. Shocker. Something you will never be able to wrap your mind around hah

This country is split almost exactly 50/50 by party lines. Not sure how that constitutes a "rise" of anything.

Anti-americanism wasn't a 50/50 split 40 years ago but it is now. Its nearly 100% of the democrat party now where it was once only the furthest fringes.

A few examples of this anti-Americanism, please.

Regardless of who pays, we will need to step on a lot of toes on the supply side of health care to rein in the inflation rate.

When college is free doctors will work for the $15 minimum wage because the only reason they want to put in decades of work to apply their superior intellect is to help people. There's no profit motive in a doctor!

Would millions of people losing their health insurance overnight be good for the people confused2
Also, John McCain and the rest congress swore an oath to act in the interest of the people, not their party trout

Of course they do. However that is where their loyalty should lie, in theory.

Politicians and most partisan Americans are idiots. They talk about health insurance and call it health care, and are deluded into thinking that if they only put in the right insurance plans and methodologies, actual doctor visits and tests and meds and hospital stays will magically become affordable. What they never do is anything about controlling the actual cost of the health care people get.

A couple of good ideas that would lower, or at least slow the rise in costs of actual health care would be:
- Require generic drug options if available, including for Medicare, and prevent companies from buying patents on existing generics and jacking prices
- Require all providers and hospitals to disclose list prices for everything, including the prices insurance companies pay.
- Revamp malpractice insurance laws to discourage useless tests given only as lawsuit shields.
- Clamp down on hospital groups buying up hospitals and establishing regional monopolies
