Bottom line is they want everyone to get logged into a gumbmint database with facial recognition software.

Along with copies of your birth certificate and SS#.

I hope that database isn't breached. smile

I see your point. Although I think most of us are already in a similar database already. Or anyone with any sort of social media that uses the same facial recognition software. That said, having it tied to your SSN adds another dimension of potential for abuse.

Damn Eunice. Some gold in this thread.

I can see the ID stuff going both ways. With all the crap going on I don't mind it for security purposes but oh yeah a breach shocked

State used to issue multiple passports to requesting business travelers who wanted to avoid problems at 3rd world immigration check points. Whenever I traveled to South Africa or Israel, is used one passport but used the other when I traveled to Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, Rwanda, etc. I had a security hassle one time in Israel because I used the 'wrong' passport... ("... why for you go to Jordan, who do you see? etc., etc.)

I obtained a REAL Drivers License last month. Poway DMV was the closest office to me with an open date just before my license expired. It took me 1 hour and I had an appointment. While there, I was fingerprinted, photographed, eye scanned, registered to vote, asked for my political party affiliation and asked about my citizenship which I then had to prove with the required papers. Maybe in the distant future, I might have to show my REAL ID to vote? There were half a dozen DMV workers involved in herding me through each specific process. Thinking back, It was much easier for me to obtain my TSA approval.

When I got my Real ID driver's license in Hawaii, it was exactly like every other time I've renewed my driver's license, except I had to show some additional documents (pay stub, utility bill, passport, birth certificate). No fingerprinting. No eye scan. No questioning my citizenship. No questions about voting. It took about 15 minutes.

You're slipping. In the age of pre-paid burner credit cards and Uber/Lyft I've no idea why you want to leave a digital paper trail in your wake shrug
