i do my best but its give and take, day to day.

Some days I wake up thankful - sometimes Im bitter that I have to go to work.

Right now is the slow season for what I do so as a freelancer- Ive been straight chilling for most of July and it might look like August too. So now Im bitter I don't have work. lol

Trying to live life to the fullest but as a single guy in LA shit gets boring. Surf in the morning, gym, than what to do for the rest of the day while all your friends and bootycalls are at work? Seriously open to rec's. Anything to keepbusy.

Rather than waste my time on the planet chasing a carrot on a stick, I try to make the most of what's in front of me. Sure, having no money prevents me from doing some of the things I'd like to do,like travel, but on the other hand, I'm not trapped in a cubicle like I used to be. One thing I know for sure is that no one's dying thought has ever been "I wish I'd spent more time at work." shrug I may be stuck surfing crappy crowded waves, but at least I'm surfing.

I'm sure a lot of materialistic, suckcess-obsessed types would say that I've wasted my life playing music for no money, surfing, and generally playing hooky from adulthood, but I bet I've had more fun than they've had. jam_on

We're all gonna die anyway. All the cash and prizes in the world won't change that. So who cares?

. . . and your little dog, too!

As many others have said, I do my best. I love my job and it’s mostly exciting and new everyday. If you’re not on your toes you’ll hurt yourself or much worse with ease. But I find it extremely gratifying. I get frustrated with how little surf time I get, mostly due to where I live but I do my best to do some traveling and get out when I can. I still struggle with settling down here and not sure I will.

Pretty much living the best life possible. I love my job, and my days off are full of activities and adventure. I'm spoiled, and very grateful.

It’s impossible for someone to not live their life to the fullest potential as every single decision we make is based on what is in our best self interest, be it for either the immediate, near or distant future. So by the definition of the human mind we are all maximizing potential positive life choices on a daily basis. Keep in mind all things that seem negative to others are either self preservative or simply reflecting a variance of values, one that may place some of our most common core values below what we consider to be obviously less important values. Chasing a high at the understood expense of decades of our lives, for example.

According to most peoples standards, I’m not living my life to it’s full potential. According to my own non-literal interpretation of the question, I absolutely am, and I’m stoked about it. I don’t think life has some grand, beautiful meaning. I don’t value ambition in the traditional sense. I think it’s all totally pointless and nothing about that makes me sad because I don’t start with the supposition that life is a fairy tale.

I live in Hawaii next to good waves and have enough time to surf weekends and maybe after work if the swell is really good. Wife is a stay at home mom and keeps the ship on the right course. I wake up every day happy to be me. I have no complaints. Its my version of the best life.

That's pretty much me except for the part about good surf. I live within walking distance of the surf......it just sucks here 350 days of the year. wave2

What's the difference between conservatives and liberals?

Conservatives get angry when you lie to them. Liberals get angry when you tell
them the truth.

I'm in a happy place now. Grateful for all that has happened for me and to me.

How would you really know you're doing it right? How it feels to you? What society thinks is right? Being happy? Making others happy?

I'm just going to keep trying!

caught up with a friend this week while traveling for work...

guy has it all, but is still unhappy.

he thinks I have it good; I think he has it good. we both think
our respective situations aren't good.

spoke with a good buddy last week....lives a good life. not happy.

I've got it made in the shade by any objective measure, but I still
feel restless, like I'm doing it wrong...or not where I'm supposed
to be.

maybe it's an inherent restlessness that, evolutionarily speaking,
keeps us motivated....like anxiety

I have been looking at property in Chile, Peru....thinking about
squatting at Ogro's, but I'm not entirely positive that would scratch
the itch.

it's a weird feeling....
