Which board do you most regret selling?

I’ll start. A 6’ Erie Peeples Fish (can’t remember the other dims for the life of me),nightmarish blue resin swirl with FCS keels. Went beautifully frontside, perfect for Maine.
I think i sold it because I was moving, or maybe i freaked out because Clark Foam had just closed and it seemed like a rational move in my addled twenty-year-old brain.

Still check Maine C-List for her sometimes.

my magic Midget Smith "pro circuit" 5'8" in XTR went missing. Squash Tail Thruster perfection.
waist high to overhead it was perfect, no thought about equipment.

I do not know if I left it on the beach or if I left it in my car and it had gotten grabbed. Searched pawn shops for a few years after. Don't drink too much on the beach. Rookie Mistake. The only saving grace was that it had suffered some serious dings that day from a collision with an adult learner with a penchant for going straight in a panic. Still would have fixed. Those Dims were magic and if I could guess 5'8" x 18.38 x ???

younger me was a dumbass. I'm still a dumbass, but not lose a surfboard due to negligence dumbass.

Never regretted selling a board. I usually make damn well sure I don't click with them first.

I did however throw my first surboard away, and I regret that. It was and early '90's Lost Board with an outline that was transitioning from an 80's shortboard to a 90's glass slipper. I was moving a bunch. It had a busted glass on fin. It was yellow as fvck and I tossed it.

Would be cool to still have it.

Yeah, if I could have my first board ever back....
It was a 5’ something” Small Faces twin fin I bought used for $50 from Frog House when I was 10. Had a purple to pink to orange to yellow spray on the bottom, blue glass on fins, white deck with an airbrushed pic of a creepy dude peaking thru mini blinds right under the front foot. Would be so stoked to have that thing right now.

My first board, a Steve Brom (i think) fish.

Also a late 80s Channel Islands Triplane Hull. My (at the time futre) wife’s brother bought it new off the rack in 1986 because he wanted to learn to surf. We took him a couple times and he gave up. The board sat in his parent’s storage unit until I re-discovered it in 2001. It was flawless.

I took it out at a nearby pointbreak to give it a whirl and liked it a lot. Some dude in the lot offered me $1,200 for it and I sold it to him that night.

I’ve regretted it ever since.

There was this totally hammered Merrick Pod (the OG, not Pod Mod) that was in my friends garage for years. Every once in awhile I'd take it out and it was so good. I think it was a 5'8. One session and it'd be waterlogged, but that session would be so fun. Did everything you want it to do. When he moved out of that place, he asked if I wanted it and I said nah. I think he threw it away. Wish I would have grabbed it.

One of my best friends had a magic OG Pod. He always surfed so well on that thing and he rode it until it was more q-cell than original foam. When it died he got the Pod Mod and for whatever reason it didn't have the same magic. Then I think he got the Black Flag Whip and didn't click with that one either so after years of brand loyalty he veered from CI and got a Lost and he's been on those ever since. I still think the surfing he did on the Pod was better than anything he's done since.

On topic, I've never regretted selling a board because I am a massive board hoarder and only the absolute dogs that I never clicked with get sold.

I have an OG Pod 5’8 for sale right now. Lots of life left in it.

I recently had a new one made in same dims so I don’t need it any more.

Favorite board ever for waste to head high.

I sold an OG Pod and have always wondered if the early versions were different. Mine was not chunky in any way but ones I occasionally see are. I heard of a guy who replaced his Pod twice in identical dims but they just didn’t have the same magic. Out of frustration they told him to send the original one and found the rails were totally different to what they’re doing now.

So embarrassed to say it. I sold a custom Robert August 6'10" Mark Martinson, shaped by RA. I picked it up used but in perfect condition for $350, and was so excited to get it in the water that I didn't even check to see if the fin was tightened down (it wasn't) and I lost it on my first session. Tried it a few more times w/ a new fin and didn't click with it (probably because I didn't have any experience riding single fins). I sold it for $500. Yeah, I made a little scratch off of it, but I didn't really know what I had. I wish I had been more patient with that board. I mostly ride shortboards, but in the right conditions I think I'd ride the shit out of it now.

No. Why would you sell something you like?

Maybe my akila aipa twin. But it was a bit small for me.

My biggest regret was not jumping on a good priced Hess shortboard a few years ago
