Let's face it.

Even though you guys are surfers. Living the "surf" lifestyle. You deviate. You decide to live in a 50Mil$ mansion besides of a tent.

You can drink beer and watch NASCAR.

Nothing wrong with NASCAR in my opinion. But the pinnacle is F1. Indy Cars are bad ass. The Indy 500 is one of the absolute bests in motor racing.

F1 though is like developing fighter jets that fly on the ground.

The Dutch.

I can't even describe it. A fruition of technology and a spectacle on the Roman level.

The thing that got to me was how many people were camping at the Austrian GP. A giant, woodstock proportion of tents and campers. With a stage, and bands, and bungee jumping. People just camping out and having a blast. Never seen the like in the USA.

We can do better.

We all are surfers. We all follow and enjoy the tech that trickles down to us.

We also all drive cars.

The F1 stuff these days is the absolute cutting edge. If these cars did no have downforce they would be airplanes.

A twin turbo, gasoline engine with a hybrid motor.

The rules. The hybrid battery pack gives about a 160HP

Wish List would be a Porsche 911 GT2 RS, a Panamera Turbo S & a Cayenne Turbo S.

F-1's are bad azz though. In their own league for sure ...

Cars are just a necessary evil when you live at the beach. Just something that rusts and gives you headaches in the salt air.

What's the difference between conservatives and liberals?

Conservatives get angry when you lie to them. Liberals get angry when you tell
them the truth.

always preferable to live in a place where you can get around (like, to the beach) without one.

F1 so boring.

Best drivers in world, best cars in world, best engineering. But so boring because same top teams wins all the time. Car spring to lead in first lap and stay that way to end of race unless big crash.

$150-400m each year to have F1 team. Stupid.

New budget max per team, $150-million from 2021

I still watch regularly (recording Austrian GP now) but these cars a f-ing stupid. They pretty much turned it into Formula Prius for political reasons. The expense of developing and building these contraptions means only the major factory teams can do it and the non-factory teams have to rent their engine packages from their competitors. The only outlier (not actually entering an entire car but renting powerplants) is Honda. No Judd, no Cosworth, no Yamaha, no Ilmor etc, etc.

I want them to over power the cars with a 3.5L formula, normally aspirated, 12 cyls max.

They'd likely all wind up being V-10's based on the compromise of power and fuel consumption but there are plenty of smaller manufacturers and specialty racing outfits that can put together a reliable 950-1100Hp V-10 and the electronics to tame the beasts are readily available- Marelli sells tons of this stuff to F1 and MotoGP and there are lots smaller mfgrs of this stuff around the world.

I'd also get rid of the multi-element wings and DRS.

My last demand (wish) is that they allow pushrod V-8's up to 10L's, I want stuff a Brodix built 10L Chevrolet into an F1 car, it should make about 1500Hp all day long at a leisurely 8000rpm or so!

I recall reading a 1976 or '77 article in one of the motor mags re the testing of the "new" 911 Turbo. The factory 'test' car was sharing track time doing brake testing with several F1 teams somewhere in Europe. The article addressed the 911 Turbo Porsche (coupe) consistently out braked and, out accelerated all of the F1 cars when the drivers started 'competing' for the track lines. Quite an article, a whole new genre (class) of race cars was about to be awakened on the unlimited performance racecar industry...

This. Whenever I see an F1 race, the cars are spaced hundreds of yards apart, if not more, circling around the track with no change in order sleeping
