I'm not talking about fishy twins. Full performance-same wave range as DD shortboards and up. What are you favorites?
Been looking into this design again as a versatile DD. The updates in the past couple years seem to have helped with hold, which was the biggest draw back for me in the past.
The obvious ones are Griffin, Akila Aipa, Rusty...Anyone try the Pyzel happy twin? The Campbell Bro. Alpha Omega looks good as well.

Can we eliminate twin/trailers from this debate? They’re super fun but they have three fins and are not, by definition, twin fins.

Agree and reason why I sold my Robber which happen to work even better as a thruster foreheadslap
Stretch 2win
MC Alpha Omega
Akila Aipa Iwa
All above currently seeking prices and deciding between these going for s 5'8" 19.5" 2.375" or 2.25" go Stretch with sk8 deck cheers

This is observational and not based off personal experience and it might not qualify since it has a trailer fin, but the Mr Super Twin.

[Linked Image]

Saw a couple of guys riding them on a trip I took to the Maldives. The waves ranged from some weaker waist high conditions up to a few feet overhead with plenty of push. Those boards looked like they worked so well in a variety of conditions. They were 2 older Australian guys who were linking the best turns together despite younger, more talented individuals in the water. I was especially impressed with its glide in smaller waves.

Really made me want one in the quiver.

I've always wanted a Super Twin 2 from MR. I may order one in XTR in the future, since Lost has the MR files. But again, this board is not a pure twin. smile

this one looks nice too

https://arakawasurfboards.com/hptwin/

both don't seem to have wide point pushed forward which I'd imagine would help with performance/turning

looks like the back edge of the fins on the Raynor are set at the wing, on the EA actually behind the wing

he's a good shaper and easy to communicate with. kinda flies under the radar. his pricing and shipping are very reasonable too.

I like the looks of those Morning of the Earth twinnies, the rounded tail channel bottom ones.

Son of Cobra round twin looks really nice as well.

I have the Rusty twin

I haven’t had any other twins but I like it

It’s exactly what you’re describing- not a groveler, but it does have a flattish rocker and is just slightly wider than the most performance boards— basically, modern daily driver profile

It holds fine and goes great in a wide variety of conditions

If I broke it, I would seriously consider getting another

I don’t have much curiousity to try other twins- it has scratched the itch for me
