After binging for months on British naval historical fiction, and a few more Theroux, I am now reading the first Tim Dorsey. I usually like screwball Florida based crime fiction but this guy may be a little too much. Trying too hard for cheap shock value satire through sex drugs humor and and gruesome death. Dorsey was recommended to me by “Yoga Bob” a drunken portly Chicago based colleague who, at 65 years old, has inexplicably fallen in love with yoga. But he is building a retirement home on Anguilla so dude can obviously still close em. But the author: meh. Hiassen and even randy Wayne white are much better Florida mad cap crime writes.

So after I finish that one, I was just steered towards “Killers of The Flower Moon” which sounds riveting.

If you like Florida based crime novels, look into the Matt Royal series by H Terrell Griffin. He spins a good yarn computer
HIassen is all time, but I've been skeptical about reading his more recent stuff shrug
Barry Eisler is my new fave author with the John Rain series, who is a globetrotting hired hitman who gets wrapped up in organized crime and CIA drama. His books get consistently better without repeating the same plot elements over and over again like your Jack Reacher type books cookin

Brave New World. Aldous Huxley. A classic I’m told. My son told me to read it.
