It didn't used to be.
It's been a good 20 years since I've eaten there.
I always opted for Mom's Italian Village.

Yeah, I'm surprised to hear that they went down hill. We were there last summer with a couple friends and spent an entire afternoon eating and playing bocce ball. The veggie lasagna rocked and the caesar salad was fresh. My family has been going there since the 70's so it's become a family tradition. Maybe they need new management? shrug

The kitchen there is so tiny compared to the seating, so the cooks can get in the weeds easily when it's busy, and what comes out can be sub par when it's like that. Also, there were no Italian chefs there for years, not sure if there is now. It's changed owners a few times and the new ones restored the interior to the original (no change to the size of the kitchen, sort of like what Joe's did. I guess, go early in the afternoon or evening, and when it's not too busy.

It was a Sunday night - only a couple tables besides us. No biggie - we still ate grin just didn't think it was worth the $100 check for 2 people. Ive left Osterio Mozza with more money in my pocket.

Was expecting something closer to Miceli's rather for anyone thats familiar with the locations in Hollywood, which isn't the best Italian food in the world either buts priced accordingly and its sort of an experience, great ol school vibe, etc.

That's Cito cool I haven't been to Luckys in a recent enough timeframe to compare. Chucks blows away everything downtown.
