Never seen wheels delivered with tires mounted.

Those tires look good.

I just replaced WTB Byways with GravelKings SK on my bike to get more grip in dirt and I'm not sure if it was the right move.

Those are the Schwalbe G-One all-rounds. Been riding them on my old wheels in 35 and upped these to 38. Didn’t wanna make a radical tire change cause I wanted to feel the wheels. They’re pretty solid. Fast and quiet on the road and decent grip on gravel.

The premounted shipped wheels were nice. Rotors, cassettes and tires all came ready to go. They even shipped with sealant which I wasn’t expecting. All I had to do was re-calibrate my rear disc brake caliber. And I threw on a new chain just because new cassette and all.

The thread on those G-Ones looks super. The Gravel Kings have a bit of weird non-directional pattern but everybody raves about them so I went with the marketing hype.

38c is so skinny for me, I'm currently running 48c on my gravel bike. lulz

They are sluggish on the road tho.

Let's shred!

More than 2/3 of my riding is on pavement still. Didn't want to be too sluggish. And I've been riding 35's on dirt for a while with no problem. If the trails start getting more technical I'd rather be on a mountain bike.

yeah I have 650b wheels on the gravel ride right now, hence fat tires to keep the diameter the same.

On 700c I run 38-40c

Since the majority of my riding is on road I might back down the width of the tires on my new wheels and beef up the tires including some knobbies on my stock wheels. I think my frame can handle up to 45x700 and still have clearance. And mud isn't really an issue in these parts.

Do the RAGBRAI with a stocked (not that stocked) RV for a sag wagon. Try to keep an open mind.

^ gnarly! A couple months back I found a brand new (looks never ridden) full suspension carbon frame mountain bike in the middle of the road. It clearly fell off a car and just has scuffs on the grips and seat. I put out a craigslist ad and also called the company with the serial number and it wasn't registered. Looks like it has all premium components too. I "think" I've done my due diligence, and if I take it to the police it would go to auction. Do I keep or sell?

You sure it doesn't have some hairline crack hidden somwhere that will fail at the exact worst time and ruin your year?

laugh That happened to me on a Schwinn BMX bike when I was a kid, but luckily I wasn't going off jumps etc. There was a little crack that looked like a scratch and then the top tube broke in half.
This bike was in the softish center of the highway where Caltrans recently did brush clearance. I thought these things were meant to take that kind of abuse shrug Will probably sell or trade it for something. It's too fancy/expensive for any use I have.

I lost a brand new bike the same way and I'm bummed about that who ever found it kept it.
I tracked my way back withing 15 minutes and somebody already scooped it.

I posted flyers in all local bike shops and Craigslist, never saw it again.

If it was me I would have left it where I found it, whoever lost it will notice and retrace their route within minutes.

If you don't have time to hang, lock the bike to the nearest post/fence and leave a note with your phone number.

I don't know how can people keep someone else's $$$$$$$ bike with clear conscience.
