Wavering between a fuse and an fx for grovel duties...

Aruka you’ve had a fuse an fx roundtail, what do you favor in thigh to waist?

Is the WMD the flare with a gx outline?

Also, habanero was originally the gx-pro. Anyone know what’s different from the GX aside from outline?

There we go. Noel Salad is about 5'6 tall.

Nice looking boards.

sure puts things into perspective now that you mention it.

His board dims make more sense now. (Still think he could do with a little more length/volume at times, but that's just my preference).

Explains why he is always on 5’4”s

It’s fairly wide for a 5’6. Proportionally as a 6’0 it would be 20.73” wide.

Not sure how shapers scale but that’s just length to width ratio extrapolated.

For reference my gx is 5’10 x 19.5”. If I were going for the same aspect ratio at 5’6 it would be 18.39” wide.

interesting. Yeah my 5'11" is 19 3/4 but I'm 6'0" just north of 200 lbs

I'm sure Tim dialed in the dimensions and wasn't like, "here's our stock 5'6." So it's probably not quite right to extrapolate the dims out to a much longer board

WMD a little sporty for the waves I intend to ride.

Anybody have any preference btw. Fx and fuse for thigh to waist groveling?

I'm really enjoying my WMD and it definitely works in the thigh-waist range, but is more fun in waste-chest surf. The wide point is forward and the tail block is pretty wide, no noticeable hip. Mine is a swallow tail. The John John fins have worked best so far.

Just based on the website, I think the FX would probably be a better call in thigh-waist mush and the WMD if there was a bit more push.

My understanding (could be wrong) is that Habanero is closer to the Grinder than the GX, but with a little more rocker. I'm really tempted to order one.

That's a tough one. I think an FX with a squash or swallow would be better in waves that small.

I ordered my Fuse kind of small so despite having some fun session on it in waist/chest high waves I always felt like it was just a little undersized for me. The design feels good and I think properly sized it would be a super versatile board but I still think the FX or WTF would be a better grovel board which is what it sounds like you're looking for.
