Wore a top at home for the first time since fall. XCEL 3/2 comp and 2/2 comp fulls were pretty good. 2/2 SS full is getting old.

2/2 comp full felt like it was last year's in that it wasn't as supple/flexy as the 3/2, and the 2/2 SS full has been with me a few years.

I tried the conditioner thing. It worked imho.

Got two Xcel comp x within the past few months. 3/2 last year model, a steal for $150, 4/3 current year model at a milder discount of $280. Only got to try the 3/2 so far, worn it a handful of times. The fit is a bit shorter and tighter than O'Neill for an MT, had some trouble peeling it off over the shoulders after getting out of the water. The lining also makes it tough to peel off over the feet and ankles after a surf. The upside to this is the suit seems to have pretty good warmth for a 3/2. While my hands and feet have been freezing, the body has been fairly toasty. Who actually know if the TDC lining actually does what they claim. The suit also seems to get more waxy than most others, after a surf or two there was a noticeable residue on the front of the suit. Durability is another big question. See a few threads coming loose already. Will this suit actually stand the test of time? Have not had much luck with Xcel in the past but was willing to given them another try.

How do you like the Isurus so far? How does it compare to Matuse and others?

I've had pretty much every wetsuit (not custom) known to man (xcel, O'Neill, matuse, boz, patagonia, billabong, isarus) . I surf Vb,Va; water 40-75; air 20-100+.

In the depths of winter I tend to stick with my o'neill 5.5/4 over my 5/4 Isarus ( alpha I think) The Isarus is a very good warm suit. The compression is snug without being over restrictive. However, I think it's best for cold water warmer air and is better than my old mature ( or memory of ; first gen around '09) They were less stretchy and didn't hold warmth.

I think the O'neilll/ xcel are the overall warmest; best for cold air cold water. The isarus is warm but better for cold water, cool or warm air.

I've had a few (and I know the owner). They are super comfy and warm. I live in Sydney so water never gets too unbearable. Great value for their price. Usually only get 2 winters out of them though - but I don't really take great care of my wetties (leave them in the sun, drag them where ever on rough surfaces etc)

Has anyone used the 2019 Isurus wetsuits with the upgraded #40 Yamamoto neoprene? Any comparison to previous years models?

I've got their newest 5/4. The neoprene and fit are great, suit is definitely warmer than my 2 year old 5/4 Oneill psychotech but to be fair the Oneill is 2 years old. My one complaint, which is significant, is that the chest zip is not water tight. When it's a little bigger and I take a wave on the head I get a lot of flushing. With that said if I don't get smashed I am usually 100% dry inside when I take the suit off. The suit is also in great shape after a full winter of abuse.
I have never tried any of their older suits so can't compare.
I also have their newer zipless 2/2 that I am hoping will not flush since it doesn't have a zipper but we'll see. If the zipless works out, I may become an Isurus convert. If not, I'm going back to Oneill or Ripcurl.

Thanks. I have been wearing Isurus suits for years now. The first generation ones had major problems in my opinion. They seem to keep getting better. I am moving to a much, much colder climate and I get cold easy so trying to figure out the BEST cold water/cold air/cold wind wetsuit. I am concerned with the flushing issues you are having since the water will be high 30s to low 40s. From the reviews it seems Patagonia suits are warm but heavy and restrictive. Oneill seems to have good feedback for cold surfing but not sure how a 5/4 (thickest they make) can compare to a 6/5 of other brands.

I literally just got a fresh box from the FedEx guy with a new Isurus 2.2 Zipperless!!! shaka
The guys at Isurus were super cool and hooked me up with a changing mat, hat and stickers! SUPER STOCKED!!

Off the bat, the suit feels a little thinker than my springsuit (SAF) 222 mm... so I dont know exactly how they are measuring the thickness. Feels kinda like its a 3mm, but much stretchier than my other 333 Isurus.

I've had a 434 Isurus Evade hooded, a 333 Elite, a 434 Elite (no hood) and a 222 SAF. The 2mm short arm full would keep me warm in about 62-63 degree water if the sun was out. If the sun wasnt out i was cold. The new 2.2 Zipperless definitely feels thicker than the 222 SAF, but not quite as thick as my 333 Elite.

I had issues with my 333 leaking in the seam at the butt! Really sucked! I tried glueing it, but nothing worked. It now takes the place of my 3/2. I also had an issue with my right shoulder rubbing and making red marks -- really uncomfortable.

Those were older models, so I'm really looking forward to trying this new one. They are saying the #40 yamamoto is better and stretchier. We shall see! I plan on putting this suit to the test. I will be back here with some feedback as soon as I get this baby in the water! Yewww!

I would love to try an isurus suit, but they are $800 in Australia. I could get a custom Axxe for that price.
