This is a pretty interesting case. The admins really played fast & loose with the racism accusation & helped to whip the kids into a frenzy. It seems like they think they think that nothing is off the table and are incapable of humility or self-reflection when it comes to whatever their notion of social justice is that day. What's really revealing is that between the compensatory and punitive stages of the trial (after being found guilty) the college president sent out an email blast pretty much refusing to acknowledge the verdict computer foreheadslap bricks and Oberlin paid dearly for it. As the SJWs are fond of reminding everyone, free speech has its consequences...

What's really interesting is that the colleges that double down on the social justice policies (microaggressions, safe spaces, trigger warnings, deplatforming etc) are the places that have by far the most problems with student governance & suffer from bad PR: Berkeley, Oberlin, Mizzou, Yale, Evergreen, etc. A self-destructive monster of their own design.

Summer time allows me a lot of time to read instead of grade papers, last summer Blood Meridian and the Monkey Wrench Gang were two of my favorites.
A student gave me Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter on the last day of school, almost done, wouldn't really recommend it but it was interesting. Got some barnes and noble gift cards from students so I ordered "Native Moments" a story about some surfers in Costa Rica. and Hotel Honolulu. Gonna grab East of Eden from the local library too.

i've mentioned before but my all time favorite author is Peter Matthiesson. At Play in the Fields of the Lord is brilliant, and Far Tortuga is my favorite about the last years of the Turtle fisheries in the Caribbean, its is kind of hard at the start to figure out who is talking but if you go slow and pay attention you catch on to the characters "Speedy" is my favorite. some of my friends tried to read it but couldn't get into it.

Also all you florida boys should read his trilogy about Florida. Killing Mr. Watson I think was the first, great books.

Many fin companies make good fins including the 2 largest. I wanted something from a smaller company in a template I didn't currently have. Was chatting with a couple and one took too long to get back to me and had a great conversation with NVS. That secured the purchase for me and they have performed good for me here in Baja. Many posted about the QC/Fit and I did not have those same issues. I would order another set from them as well as the other brand I wanted.

Not sure what "I am in trouble means", but ok.

Hmmm. No. It has a light single that becomes a pretty deep double in the middle of the board and through the fins.

From NVS website:

The Apex JL Thruster surfboard fin is a medium sized template, available in both FCS and Futures base. A highly functional template designed to cover a wide range of conditions and surfing styles. With more surface area than the NV-5.2s the JL's will provide increased drive and control down the line and through turns without feeling rigid. We thinned out the trailing edge and tip of this template ensuring plenty of release when desired. One of our most progressive, versatile thruster sets.

We're releasing the JL thruster fins in our Apex Series construction; made with a solid piece of precision foiled G10 fiberglass for the ultimate in performance and durability. The combination of highly durable material and precision foiling yield a fin that is stronger and has a more ideal flex pattern than your traditional honeycomb or composite fins.

G10 is made by compressing layers of fiberglass and epoxy resin and baking it an autoclave to have the maximum strength of any fiberglass available.

Size: Medium - Large

From NVS website:

The Peregrine Thrusters are our version of the K2.1/WCT templates. We made some modifications to the outline to increase maneuverability, and improved foiling to create a higher performance setup.

Peregrine Falcons are the fastest animal on the planet. The Peregrine Thrusters mirror performance characteristics displayed by these magnificent creatures; SPEED and AGILITY. The template features relatively upright side fins which are ideal for surfing more vertically in the pocket as well as allowing for tighter, more acute directional changes.

We're releasing this thruster set with two center fin options. Option A (WCT/K2.1 style center) features a smaller, more drawn in template than the side fins yielding increased tail release. Option B is the same outline as the side fins, scaled down; also yielding a looser feel but with slightly more down the line speed. Pick up both and you have yourself two unique thruster setups.

The Peregrines are ideal for surfers who are interested in fast, progressive turns and the center fin options allow for experimentation depending on conditions and wave types.

Weight Range: 145 lbs - 195 lbs

Base: 4.35 inch
Height: 4.54 inch
Area: 14.78
Sweep:32.7 Degree

Can he shoot free throws in the nba consistently will be the real question.

Look at Giannis Antetokounmpo in that last series, one of the best in the NBA but you can NOT have the ball in his hands at the end of a close game because he couldn't shoot free throws.

I was reading all this and I've seen some flat earth stuff lately, heights and horizons etc. Then I remembered - wait - I got on a US Navy ship in San Diego and sailed West West West and kept going and going, there was a chart up in the mess decks showing our progress, I was working Sonar so I knew which way we were going, I was up on the bridge so I could see what the compass heading was and after a long time we got to Singapore where we drank Tiger Beer.

Two or so years later I got on another Navy ship in Norfolk, Virginia and sailed East through the Mediterranean then more east ish through the Suez and the Red Sea then the Indian Ocean then - Singapore for New Year's 1984 - where we drank Tiger Beer.

So having been to Singapore both ways I think I can say that the Earth is round.

I call it my Tiger Beer Theorem!

uh, no. gambling in AC is a failed experiment. what development, outside of the actual casinos complexes and a few retail complexes? last time i looked, AC had neither a decent grocery store or a movie theater...the boardwalk is a sick joke, the inlet is still a wasteland, the North side still a war zone. the slums have long since spilled over into lower Chelsea and on down into Ventnor.

i'll give the casino industry credit for creating some service industry hospitality jobs for people who might not have had any opportunity otherwise, but most AC casino/hotel employees have been laid off more than once and the ax is always ready to fall at any time.

casino gambling is a great big Hoover vac that exists to suck money out of a community....disposable income of locals and visitors that might otherwise go to local shops, dining, entertainment etc gets diverted to the casino. and yes, casinos really do attract all the worst elements of crime, drugs, hookers, violence etc etc.

i can't think of a community that is better off for gambling....there might be a few out there, but AC certainly is not one of them.

so much falsehood.
for whom are you shilling?

the retail complex is a success.
theres a new oceanfront college.

there is no (supermarket type) grocery for sad reasons.

this u got right - it sucks working for the casinos cause they treat service workers like crap.
